A COMPANY HISTORY
October 1990
A partnership was formed between Brent Duhr and Bob Duhr. We set up a laminate shop of approximately 1000 square feet in Bob’s barn with one employee. We built and installed residential and commercial countertops and cabinetry. Some of our original customers included Impala Homes, McKee Associates, Connery Building Corporation, The Renschler Company and Kitchen and Bath Concepts.
October 1991
We built a new commercial building of 4800 square feet in the Iron Horse Industrial Park in Mazomanie. We hired three additional employees and expanded our residential and commercial business including becoming a certified Corian fabricator. New customers included Don Simon Homes, P.C. I. and Schluter Construction.
October 1993
We added 5400 square feet to our existing building, which included expansion to our office and showroom areas and brought out total space to 9200 square feet. We also purchased upgraded machinery for commercial casework. We hired five additional employees and expanded our customer base by becoming active in the wholesale supply area. New customers at that time included Wisconsin Supply, Marling Lumber, and Padley McGann Construction.
October 1996
We expanded again with a 4800 square foot addition which brought our total area to 14,000 square feet. We hired six additional employees and expanded our business in the whole sale supply areas. Some of our new customers included Brunsell Lumber, Chase Lumber and Drexel Interiors.
January 1998
B&B Laminates is a thriving business. We recently purchased new countertop production equipment for greater efficiency and higher quality. We have a fleet of six installation vans and a staff of fifteen. Out staff includes an outside sales person, Jack Bartosh and an inside salesperson, John Schultz, who is responsible for scheduling. We are currently interested in adding to our client base in the residential builder area. Our recent equipment purchase has given us the capacity to service this market better than any other company in this area.
January 2004
Our company is now B&B Laminates, Inc. The last few years have been great in this market area. Our growth has mirrored the residential market. We now have 24 employees. Donna Smith has been added as office manager. Our account list has grown substantially. Veridian Homes, Connery-Fedler, Krupp Construction, Princeton Custom Homes, and United Building Center, among others, are some of the contractors and suppliers we are happy to be able to work with. Our expansion of equipment, employees, and two more installation vans has allowed us to be able to shorten our production time and become more consistent with our installation schedule. Typical lead times are six days for installed products. We now have the production capability to serve a few more selected customers.
July 2005
We purchased the former Roto-Zip building in Cross Plains to accommodate our continuing expansion. This building is 38,000 square feet. We have leased a portion of the office space to an insurance company. We also donated space to the Cross Plains Library while they are constructing a new building on the site of their old building.
B & B Laminates, Inc. moved into the building in May 2005. The increased space has been great for us. A larger and more complete showroom area, more efficient office space, and great storage and production spaces make this a very good place to do business.
Sales, accounting, scheduling installation, and production of all laminates and solid surface products are now in Cross Plains. Increased space allows us to do larger commercial projects and reduce lead times even more.
We have retooled our Mazomanie plant to fabricate stone products. New water cooled diamond saws and edgers have been installed to allow us to very efficiently fabricate Granite and quartz products.
Our customers have been asking for these products and we are very pleased to be able to provide them. We offer the same quick service and high quality that they have come to expect with laminates and solid surface
B & B Laminates, Inc. offers four lines of laminate including Formica, Pionite, Wilsonart, and Nevamar. Solid surface products offered are, Dupont Corian, Wilsonart Gibraltor, and Formica Solid Surface. We also have recently added Granite, Dupont Zodiaq Quartz Surface, and Formica Stone to our line. Marlam marble and Lippert marble are bath products offered.
All of us at B & B Laminates, Inc would like to thank the many customers we have been fortunate to work with over all these years and look forward to many more.
